Hurt

My cursor sits here blinking
waiting for me to type
words to describe s
the past forty-eight hours
a bombing in Boston
and fertilizer plant explosion
both such tragic events

there is not time to
be numb to these events
there is not time
to forget these people
their stories
the tragedy
they are experiencing right now

There is time to pray
pray that the Lord would
comfort those who
are hurting
those who have lost loved ones
those who are waiting to hear
that family members are safe

There is time
to give money
where you see fit
there is time to
not shy away
from the events
that are going on

The families of sandy hook are still hurting
the families of those in Boston
and now in Texas are hurting
we live in a world of
sin and horrific things that happen
which can be overwhelming
but the best thing to remember
is that God is in control
God is love
and God has overcome
all the evil, pain and sin

Don't turn a blind eye
to what is happening in our country
and our world
learn and then continue to pray
for the families affected
for our president and his team
for the FBI
for our country

Our culture is so quick
to move on from an event
to forget the pain
and suffering
that still goes on
at Sandy Hook
even in places
like New Orleans
where Katrina hit almost seven years ago
But those places should not be forgotten
they should be remembered
They should be prayed for

Dear God, Be with those tonight who are hurting. with the families in Boston as the come to terms with the violence there and also with those in west Texas where an explosion took place at fertilizer plant. Be a comfort in this time of need for our country. Give wisdom to the president, FBI and all of the others that are involved in these two situations. You have overcome the world and in the end, you are good and you are love. Amen
