Five Minute Friday: Together

Unscripted. Unedited. Real.

It started because I’d been thinking about writing and how often our perfectionism gets in the way of our words. And I figured, why not take 5 minutes and see what comes out: not a perfect post, not a profound post, just five minutes of focused writing.

So now on Fridays a group of people who love to throw caution to the wind and just write without worrying if it’s just right gather to share what five minutes buys them. Just five minutes.

2. Write a post in only five minutes on that topic on your blog.
3. {And if you don’t have a blog, no worries! Just leave your writing as a comment on my post}

GO

We are all together
struggling for one goal
one end 
and together
we laugh
we cry
this one goal
is called life

we are all doing life together
we want to be unified
and yet there are walls
that tear us down
that divide us
based on race
gender and religion
but we need to be together
we need to be together
because together 
means freedom
peace unity and love

Together means 
we are able to build trust
we are able to build community
and we are able to have 
the life that Jesus wants for us
we are able to have a life
that not only helps others
but also is for the kingdom of God

Together does not mean separate
together means together
we are one
God created us all in his image
why is there division
when he decided us to be together
he designed us to live
in community and lift others up and encourage
he designed us to be there for our friends
he designed us to rejoice with those who rejoice
mourn with those who mourn
and grieve with those who grieve
Life is not just for one
but for many
Life is meant to be lived together
as one
