when buildings crumbled
lives lost
families torn apart
that day
schools hushed
the news and did not
tell little ears
of the terrible news
that day
things were canceled
offices closed
as the nation watched
in horror
that day
when our nation
was forever changed
that day
when America
became united
again
we cared for those around us
and we truly became
the United States of America.

Dear God, be with all of the families that are grieving today. comfort them. Thank you for all the men and woman who were there on that day and for that one church that opened their doors to the community. Thank you for a free nation and for a nation that is able to help others around us. Thank you for America and all of the diversity and beauty that is around us. September 11, 2001, a day that will never be forgotten. Amen.
Will never forget that day - a whole country over and it affects eveyrone to the core. xo.
